The Future Is Ours?

The Future Is Ours?

In this reproduced image, created with chalk pastels, I riff off of the changing face of the young girl, through the use of two separate silohette lines. I think that using the lines in this way gives the illusion of a turning head or face.  On her right of her view is "green pastures", although with a graying sky, and behind her is a dark and ominous past. As African Americans we sometimes live in past, present and future dilemmas.  I also reference red, black and green which are symbols used in the black national flag.
